Craig Donnachie was appointed Head of Quality & Assurance in August 2022. Formerly Head of Quality at Forensic Services, Craig has over 18 years’ experience implementing Quality & Management Systems in Forensic Science. Before becoming Head of Quality, Craig worked as Quality, Information & Support Manager at Forensic Services Edinburgh and led the rebuilding work following the incendiary attack in 2010, leading to a Scottish policing commendation recognising the commitment and dedication of all the Edinburgh staff who worked to maintain the service during this difficult time.

Prior to joining Forensic Services, Craig had worked in Quality Assurance manufacturing over-the-counter medicines, Phase 1 clinical trial material and life sciences supply formulation. He has experience of computer system validation, manufacture of medical devices to ISO 13485 as well as validation and commissioning of a purpose built Biotechnology laboratory.

Craig was instrumental in the development and implementation of a single UKAS accredited Management System across Forensic Services, supported by the Q-Pulse application, leading to multi-site accreditation in 2018.
