SPA Public Confidence & Support Surveying during COVID 19 (Wave 4) - 9 March 2021

Report Summary

This report provides members of the Policing Performance Committee with an overview of SPA's Public Confidence & Support Surveying during COVID 19.

This paper provides the Committee with a summary of the main findings from the Authority’s fourth wave of independent public opinion surveying regarding the policing of lockdown restrictions and general attitudes towards police effectiveness and visibility.

The paper examines the latest Wave 4 findings and compares them, where possible, to previous survey findings, including external sources of data such as the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey findings from 2018/19 and recent polls carried out by YouGov across Great Britain. An additional section of this paper explores regional analysis.
