Views on police presence

In Waves 1 and 2, the majority of respondents felt police presence levels were ‘About right’, changing to ‘Not enough’ in Waves 3 and 4.

The proportion of ‘Not enough’ responses steadily increased from 36% in Wave 2 to 46% in Wave 4. ‘About right’ decreased from 44% to 33% between Waves 1 and 3, before rising in Wave 4 to 38%.
