Capacity and Central Coordination
Capacity remains a barrier for proactive activity in terms of wider global collaboration for the IDIU. As previously mentioned, there continues to be increasing demand for the services and expertise Police Scotland can provide to police services and other public safety partners. The work undertaken currently has come to the team rather than the IDIU actively approaching others, which remains an aspiration.
A wider presence in this global arena presents Police Scotland in a highly professional light whilst also providing unique opportunities for continuous professional development for our officers and staff. Enhancing these personal skills feeds back into the professional service we provide to the communities of Scotland.
