Number of Incidents
- How many incidents were recorded in the last 5 years (broken down by year) where police vehicles hit pedestrians?
Severity of Injuries
- For each year, how many incidents resulted in:
- Fatalities
- Serious injuries (e.g., fractures, hospitalizations)
- Minor injuries
Location and Circumstances
- How many of these incidents occurred:
- During emergency responses (blue light calls)?
- During routine patrols or non-emergency situations?
- If available, a breakdown of incidents by borough or postcode area.
Speed and Traffic Violations
- How many of the recorded incidents involved the police vehicle exceeding the speed limit?
- Were any police officers found to have violated traffic regulations in relation to these incidents?
Outcomes and Accountability
- How many officers involved in these incidents were:
- Subject to internal investigation or disciplinary action?
- Found to have breached conduct standards?
- How many of these incidents resulted in a complaint or legal claim being made against the SP?
- Of these, how many were settled, and what was the total compensation paid out?
Vehicles and Training
- Were the vehicles involved marked or unmarked police cars?
- How many incidents involved specialist units (e.g., pursuit vehicles)?
- What training do SP officers receive to minimize risks to pedestrians when driving police vehicles?
