Caveats on the Data Used and Notes on Comparability
This exercise was conducted by Scottish Police Authority officers based on a limited data set. Data used were mainly publicly available from Police Scotland and forces in England and Wales, and a ‘member of the public’ approach was taken while reviewing and analysing. Different time periods have been used for different
measures, in line with the data available. Data sets have not been validated by Police Scotland.
