Road Safety
Drink and drug drive enforcement action
Our Festive Drink and Drug Drive operation took place between Thursday 1 December 2022 and Monday 2 January 2023.
The intelligence led campaign was supported by public messaging and involved targeted deployment of officers from Road Policing and Local Policing Divisions, to deter and detect those who continue to put themselves and others at risk of harm through driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During the campaign, officers carried out over 3,000 roadside tests, leading to the detection of over 720 drink or drug impairment offences.
