This report provides members of the Policing Performance Committee with an overview of Police Scotland's Benchmarking Update.  

The purpose of this briefing paper is to provide an update on benchmarking and to provide clarity and openness on the benchmarking methodology. The draft benchmark measures will be developed further as part of the Performance Framework 2022/23 refresh.

Benchmarking is another method to evidence and answer performance questions and provide valuable insights. Initial benchmarking measures will be reported in 2022/23, with ongoing development of new measures to be included in the 2023/24 Performance Framework to bring benchmarking into business as usual moving forward.
