Background

Strategic planning arrangements for policing in Scotland are set out in the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012. Section 35 requires the Chief Constable to prepare an Annual Police Plan for each yearly period beginning on 1 April.

The draft Annual Police Plan 2024/25 (APP) is aligned to the outcomes set out in the Strategic Police Plan / Joint Strategy for Policing (2023), ‘Policing for a Safe, Protected and Resilient Scotland’.
