The Scottish Police Authority has agreed interim arrangements to provide continuity of leadership after Chief Constable Sir Iain Livingstone leaves his post on 10 August and before Chief Constable Jo Farrell takes up her role on Monday, 9 October.
As Deputy Chief Constable Designate, DCC Fiona Taylor will take on the responsibilities of Chief Constable during this period. Assistant Chief Constable Alan Speirs will become DCC for Professionalism, Strategy and Engagement, on a temporary basis.
Chief Superintendent Faroque Hussain and Chief Superintendent Stuart Houston have been appointed as Temporary Assistant Chief Constable’s to fill current vacancies.
Speaking about the interim arrangements, Martyn Evans, Chair of the Scottish Police Authority said:
“The Authority has made a number of temporary appointments address current requirements ahead of Sir Iain Livingstone retiring on 10 August 2023. These arrangements bring excellent skills and experience to the leadership team while it continues to drive improvement in policing.”
